Baking With The Beatles

In the sixties four lads from Liverpool changed rock and roll music forever. Their music was a big part of the soundtrack of kids who were coming of age. The Beatles didn’t let themselves or the music get behind the times. They evolved with all the changes that were happening around them. I believe that’s why their music is timeless. I didn’t see them on Ed Sullivan. My parents did. I believe the first time I heard their music it was Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club. I have been a fan ever since. I spent some of my happiest times with their music. Dancing in the basement at my best friend Melissa’s house. We always played While My Guitar Gently Weeps on the table jukebox at the Nautilus Diner. Kneading dough to Helter Skelter. Frosting a cake to I Dig A Pony, I could go on forever. The music made me feel good and hopeful. Feeling good with MS is something that’s been relative since my diagnosis in 1996. I can deal with symptoms, but it’s the exacerbations that are tricky. My last one lasted 18 months. I was beaten up by it. Even as it began to dissipate, it was hard to find my energy again. My body and soul took a beating. One day I picked up a notebook and began to write down all the recipes I had. Before I knew it, I got back in the kitchen and began to cook and bake again. With the Beatles channel on Sirius XM, there was a steady stream of music. It marked the genesis for both the Baking Beatles and family cookbooks. It’s been a while since the last episode. I’m focusing on the future and loving every day until the date of production for cookbooks and my fiction roll around. In the meantime, I hope you enjoy a peek at what’s in store when you Bake With The Beatles.
